2023-2024 Fall and Spring Semester Dormitory Application
Dear Students,
Please find below the application requirements and steps for the 2023-2024 Fall and Spring semester dormitory applications.
Dormitory Application Process
Early Bird Applications for the 2023-2024 academic year will be accepted from current students via the SIS from Friday, July 28, 2023, 10 a.m. to Sunday, August 06, 2023, 5 p.m. Please be advised that prior to the early bird dormitory applications, necessary arrangements will be made to provide on-campus housing opportunity in our dormitories for new students who will join the OzU family in the 2023-2024 academic year, just like you have benefited in your first year. To that end, a specific portion of the dormitory capacity will be allocated to newly admitted students.
When submitting your dormitory application, please consider the room assignment priorities and available capacity in each dormitory. You may find our dorm capacities on our website.
Payments
No fees will be paid during the dormitory application. However, students who are assigned with rooms upon their applications are required to pay in full the security deposit of 3,000 TL and the housing fees for the Fall semester, which have been updated as per our rules and regulations. Students who have been unable to pay their security deposits are urged to make their incomplete payments till the date to be specified in the announcement of dormitory application results.
Room Assignment Priorities:
In implementing our room assignment priorities, our primary condition is to take into account the students’ permanent residence address and the creation date of this address. Residing outside the city constitutes a priority in room assignments. However, other criteria for room assignments are also considered before making the final decision. Please note that in case the student changes his/her permanent address before or after his/her university enrolment, the reason, justification, and date of the change of address will be investigated while reviewing the application, and if deemed necessary, the student’s permanent address at the time of his/her university examination and high school education will be taken into account.
When determining the room assignment priorities of international students, their alma mater (country information) and/or permanent addresses will also be taken into account.
- Students with Housing Scholarship (Priority is given to scholarship recipients if their first choice is the room type granted by their housing scholarships.)
- International students
- Current students from outside Istanbul
- Current students from Istanbul **
*The order of priority for room assignments for students from Istanbul is as follows:
- Precinct: Arnavutköy, Büyükçekmece, Çatalca, Silivri
- Precinct: Princess Islands, Avcılar, Başakşehir, Beylikdüzü,Esenyurt, Küçükçekmece, Sultangazi
- Precinct: Bağcılar, Bahçelievler, Bakırköy, Bayrampaşa, Esenler, Eyüp Gaziosmanpaşa, Güngören, Zeytinburnu
- Precinct: Beykoz, Beyoğlu, Fatih, Kağıthane, Pendik, Sarıyer, Tuzla
- Precinct: Ataşehir, Beşiktaş, Kadıköy, Kartal, Maltepe, Sultanbeyli, Şile, Şişli
- Precinct: Çekmeköy, Sancaktepe, Ümraniye, Üsküdar
Students whose precincts are the same will be ranked among themselves based on the following order of priority:
- Year of admission (Current students will be ranked based on their year of admission from earliest to latest)
- Date and Time of application (from earliest to latest)
Important Notes for Recipients of Housing Scholarship:
Housing scholarship recipients will be assigned rooms based on the terms and conditions of their housing scholarships in their year of enrollment. Recipients of housing scholarships are advised to choose the room type granted by their housing scholarships in order to make sure they are assigned a room. Otherwise, receiving a room assignment is not guaranteed.
In a case in which a scholarship recipient is assigned a room type other than the one granted by his/her housing scholarship as a result of the order of priority, the total amount of housing fees the student needs to pay will be waived up to the amount of the student’s housing scholarship, and the remaining amount will be charged to the student.
Should a student’s housing scholarship be terminated after s/he is assigned a room, the difference will be charged to the student.
Application Results and Payments
You may check the result of your dormitory applications via the SIS on Friday, August 11, 2023. To check your dormitory application results, please log into the SIS and click on the Dormitory Procedures >> Dormitory Application Results tabs.

The due date for the payment of the security deposit and the housing fees for the rooms assigned during the Early Bird Application Period is Tuesday, August 22, 2023.
Failure to make the payments until the due date will result in cancellation of the room assignment. Students whose room assignments are cancelled or who are not assigned rooms can submit a new application together with the Newly Admitted Students.
