External Preparatory (for English Prep)

External Preparatory for English Prep Program

The following students may apply to receive the status of External Preparatory Students  to improve their English language proficiency by their own means:

  • Students who are unable to successfully complete the English Preparatory Program by the end of the first academic year
  • Students who successfully complete Level 4 in any semester within their maximum period of study but are unable to pass the English Proficiency Examination (TRACE)

Student Privileges for External Preparatory Students:

  • The semesters spent under the status of “External Preparatory Student” are counted towards the maximum period of study of two years.
  • During this period, students cannot attend courses or take level examinations. They may only sit the TRACE exam announced in the Academic Calendar.
  • During this period, students may submit a proficiency certificate from the external proficiency examinations announced by the University. The certificate must be submitted to Student Services no later than one week before the undergraduate course registration period announced in the Academic Calendar. Students whose applications are approved must complete their tuition payment and course registration for their undergraduate programs within the dates specified in the Academic Calendar.
  • Students cannot reside in university dormitories during this period.
  • The semesters spent under External Preparatory Student status in the English Preparatory Program are counted towards the scholarship duration. Any additional scholarships the students may be receiving, such as cash stipends or housing support, will be suspended during this period. These additional scholarships will be reinstated starting from the semester in which the students regain their “registered student” status.
