Vertical Transfer

Vertical Transfer

There will not be placement to Özyeğin University via vertical transfer (DGS) in 2019-2020 academic year.

Vertical transfer is admission of successful students who were graduated from vocational schools or  associate degree programs of open education to bachelor’s degree programs of formal education.  Application, examination and placement procedures for vertical transfers are conducted by the Student Selection and Placement Center (OSYM). Each year,  available programs for vertical transfers as well as their eligibility criteria and quota are listed in the OSYM’s Guide for Vertical Transfers from Vocational Schools and Associate Degree Programs to Undergraduate Programs.

Accordingly, Özyeğin University  will admit vertical transfer students to its undergraduate programs within the limits of the designated quotas. Please click here to see the vertical transfer quotas (DGS).

Term and Continuity of Scholarships Awarded to Vertical Transfer Students

Scholarships are non-refundable and cover the Fall and Spring semesters. Scholarships are awarded for a maximum of two years to students who attend the English Preparatory Program. In the case of students who directly matriculate to their undergraduate programs, scholarships are awarded throughout the student’s regular period of study, plus an additional year. For transfer students, the regular period of study is the remaining period of study the student needs to complete, which is calculated after the credit and grade transfer is completed. Scholarships continue so long as students do not receive any disciplinary action and attend classes regularly. Students who do not renew their registration and/or interrupt their undergraduate studies without the approval of the university, and who exceed the maximum period of time allowed to maintain their scholarships, or who fail to complete the English Preparatory Program by the end of their second academic year, will lose their previously granted scholarships. Should students be subject to  any disciplinary action, scholarships can be terminated according to the respective Senate decision.

Students who fail to complete the English Preparatory Program by the end of their second academic year lose their previously granted scholarships and their enrollment at the University is terminated (.Students who exercise their right to sit the TRACE examinations as per Article 44 of Law No:2547 and prove their English proficiency may matriculate to and enroll in their undergraduate programs. Such students are required to pay the applicable tuition fee for newly admitted students in the year of their re-admission to the University, provided that they   did not receive the status of unregistered student during the periods in which they previously studied at the University. The tuition waivers awarded to such students at their first admission to the University are reinstated, excluding cash stipends, dining, housing, and/or transportation support, if any.
